Legal
Terms & conditions.
Last updated: September 2026. These terms cover your use of the GOLSZ app and your GOLSZ account. GOLSZ is sold to adults: you must be 18 or over to hold an account. GOLSZ does not currently create or manage profiles for athletes under 18.
1. Acceptance of these terms
By creating a GOLSZ account or otherwise using the GOLSZ app, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy policy. If you don't agree, please don't use GOLSZ. These terms are an agreement between GOLSZ and an adult account holder aged 18 or over — see section 3.
2. About GOLSZ
GOLSZ is an AI-powered network for athletes, coaches, scouts, agents, and physios, operated from Montreal, Canada. It includes an athlete profile ("Passport"), an AI assistant ("Scout") that provides guidance and recommendations, tools for tracking development and recruiting outreach, and paid plans with expanded features. Features may change, be added, or be removed over time.
3. Eligibility and age — GOLSZ contracts with adults only
You must be 18 or older to create a GOLSZ account, agree to these terms, or pay for a subscription. GOLSZ does not sell to children and does not enter into agreements with them. If you are under 18, you may not create or control an account.
Managed profiles for athletes under 18 are not currently offered. As of 20 September 2026 GOLSZ is for athletes aged 18 and over who hold their own account. The parent- or guardian-managed profile described in earlier versions of these terms has been withdrawn, and this is enforced in the product rather than only stated here: sign-up refuses a date of birth under 18, and the account-creation endpoint that created managed profiles refuses every request. No new under-18 profile can be created by any route.
[Legal review advised] if managed profiles are reintroduced, the clauses governing them — account-holder responsibility, the consent declaration, and deletion rights — need to be restored and reviewed before that happens, not after.
If you are creating or managing an account on behalf of a club, agency, or other organization, you confirm you are 18 or over and have the authority to do so.
4. Parent/guardian responsibility
If you create and manage an account covering an athlete under 18, you are the account holder and the customer. That means you, not the athlete:
- enter into these terms and are bound by them;
- are responsible for the accuracy of the information provided about the athlete;
- are responsible for reviewing what is shared or made public through that profile;
- are responsible for all activity on the account; and
- are the party charged for any subscription, and the only party who can start, change, or cancel it.
You confirm that you are the athlete's parent or legal guardian, or otherwise hold the authority to consent on their behalf. You can request deletion of the managed profile and its data at any time. [Legal review advised] GOLSZ currently accepts this confirmation as an in-app declaration and does not independently verify parentage or guardianship; whether that is sufficient in each territory GOLSZ serves should be confirmed by counsel.
5. Subscriptions and billing
Subscriptions are sold to, and charged to, the adult account holder only — never to an athlete under 18. GOLSZ offers four tiers — Free, Basic, Pro and Elite — with Basic, Pro and Elite billed monthly through Stripe in Canadian dollars (CAD), US dollars (USD) or euro (EUR). Which one you see is based on where you open the app, and you can change it yourself before subscribing. Current prices are shown on the GOLSZ homepage and in the app before you subscribe. At checkout, Stripe may additionally offer to charge you in your own local currency at its exchange rate; the amount and currency are always shown to you on the payment page before you confirm, and you can switch back to the currency GOLSZ quoted. Payment is processed and stored entirely by Stripe — GOLSZ never receives your full card details. Subscriptions renew automatically each billing period until cancelled. You can downgrade to Free at any time from Settings; downgrading in-app changes what the account can access going forward but does not, by itself, cancel or refund an already-active paid subscription — to stop billing or request a refund, use the receipt email Stripe sends you, or contact us and we'll assist. [Legal review advised] a concrete refund policy (e.g. pro-rated, no-refund, or statutory EU 14-day distance-selling withdrawal handling for digital services) should be defined explicitly rather than left to case-by-case handling.
6. Payment failures
If a renewal payment fails, we may flag your account and ask you to update your payment method; we don't cut off access on the first failed charge, since card issuers and Stripe's own retry process often resolve this automatically. If payment ultimately cannot be collected and Stripe closes out the subscription, your account reverts to the Free plan.
7. The AI assistant (Scout) — limitations
Scout provides AI-generated guidance, suggestions, and information to help with athletic development and recruiting. Scout's responses are generated by a third-party AI model and, like any AI system, can be incomplete, out of date, or simply wrong. Scout is not a substitute for professional coaching, medical, legal, or financial advice, and its suggestions (including anything related to opportunities, contacts, or outreach) should be independently verified before you rely on them. Usage of Scout may be limited by your plan (e.g. a daily question allowance) and by abuse-prevention limits that apply regardless of plan.
8. Your content and conduct
You retain ownership of the profile information, images, and posts you submit to GOLSZ. By posting or uploading content, you grant GOLSZ a license to store, display, and process it as needed to operate the service (for example, showing your profile to people you share it with, or including your post in the feed). You agree not to use GOLSZ to harass, threaten, or endanger others; post spam, scams, or fraudulent opportunities; impersonate someone else; upload content you don't have the right to share; or attempt to bypass GOLSZ's safety, rate-limiting, or moderation systems. We use a combination of automated checks and human review to enforce this, and may remove content, restrict features, or suspend or terminate accounts that violate it — with extra care around content involving or directed at minors.
9. Reporting, verification, and appeals
You can report content or accounts you believe violate these terms. If your content is removed, your account is restricted, or a verification request is denied, you can submit an appeal for review. We aim to review appeals promptly but don't guarantee a specific timeframe. [Legal review advised] a defined appeal-response SLA should be set once operational capacity is confirmed.
10. Intellectual property
The GOLSZ name, wordmark, and app design (excluding your own content and any third-party trademarks referenced for illustrative purposes) are the property of GOLSZ or its licensors. You may not copy, reproduce, or use them without permission, other than in the ordinary course of using the app.
11. Account termination
You can delete your own account at any time from Settings — this permanently removes your account, profile, and uploaded content. We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these terms, poses a safety risk, or where we're required to do so by law. Deleting a parent's account does not delete a managed under-18 athlete's profile or data; that must be deleted separately. [Legal review advised] whether this default survives an erasure request under the GDPR or Québec's Law 25, and whether deletion of the adult's account should instead cascade to the managed profile, should be confirmed by counsel.
12. Disclaimers
GOLSZ is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including as to accuracy, availability, or fitness for a particular purpose. We don't guarantee that Scout's guidance will lead to any particular outcome (e.g. a trial, contract, or scholarship), or that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, GOLSZ is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including reliance on AI-generated guidance or content posted by other users. [Legal review advised] a liability cap and any statutory carve-outs that can't be limited under Québec/Canadian consumer-protection law — or under EU/UK consumer law for customers resident there — should be confirmed with counsel.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product develops. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "last updated" date above, and where appropriate we'll notify account holders directly.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Québec and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. [Legal review advised] if you are a consumer resident in the EU/EEA or the UK, mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence may still apply regardless of this clause, and Québec's Consumer Protection Act restricts what a contract with a Québec consumer can waive — counsel should confirm the exact wording before this is treated as final.
